The wine tasting evening for the Norwich and Norfolk trainee solicitors group was a great success. The event was exceptionally well planned and Ed and Dean talked to us in detail in advance about what format the evening should take, what we wanted it to achieve and how this could best be done. A good range of different wines was available for tasting. Ed's comments were informative and helpful but did not detract from the relaxed and informal atmosphere. This was the first time HarperWells had hosted a tasting for us. We constrained the tasting to one and a half hours with dinner due to be served at nine pm.  Our presenters were Ed Wells and Nathan Rogers who took us through the delights of 5 Sauvignon Blancs and 5 Shiraz variations from around the world. The quality of the wine on offer was excellent and the variety stunning. The background and insights that accompanied them made it an enjoyable and very informative evening. The event was made especially interesting as the commentary became driven by questions and comments from the audience. But Ed kept us focused on the wines.We finished spot on time (and to budget) and enjoyed a marvellous tagine courtesy of Alex at the Beehive. The wine tasting was a great success. Two common comments were “I’ve learned a lot tonight” and “They were easy on the eye”. We’ll have HarperWells again as long as they’ll have us. - Neil Croft - OGC
