We are once again delighted to welcome Justin Nugent from the Bird In Hand winery to host another evening of wine and food heaven! If you like wonderful, hand crafted Australian wines and you haven’t discovered this range yet, then you just have to be there – if you have been to one of our Bird In Hand dinners before, then we are sure that you will not want to miss this one for anything!

The Bird in Hand vineyards are nestled in the rolling green pastures of the Adelaide Hills in Australia, less than an hours drive from the city. The name comes from a disused goldmine just below the vineyard and it seems that new gold has been found in these parts judging by the vast array of medals that they are getting for their wines! Success has been no coincidence, their vision from the start was clear: “Bird in Hand will be a world class winery. This will be my life’s work. I’m not blind to the huge challenge but we’ll get there – with enough hard work.” (Andrew Nugent).
Come and try the wines and decide whether you think they have made it - we have 6 different wines from the range for you to enjoy.
We have got together with the team at the excellent ‘Last Wine Bar’ in Norwich, Chef Dory Masri has put a great menu together for the evening to compliment the wines (see below).
The whole evening will only cost you an all-in price of £39 per head, for this you will get great food, great wine and the chance to hear all about the Bird In Hand story from Justin.

On Arrival – Two in the Bush Sauvignon/Semillon 2007.
Starter
Salt cod croquettes with saffron aioli and crispy chorizo
Served with - Bird in Hand Chardonnay 2005 & Two in the Bush Merlot/Cabernet 2007
Main Course
Braised lamb shank with mash, roasted root vegetables, red wine and rosemary jus
Served with - Bird in Hand Shiraz 2006 & Bird In Hand Merlot 2006
Cheese Course
Vanilla Cheesecake with caramel sauce
Served with - Bird in Hand Sparkling (Pinot Noir) 2008
Followed by coffee.
