Wine Supper with Wild Earth NZ @ The Last - 02.04.09
Would you like to meet the man who has made the world’s best Pinot Noir and enjoy his incredible wines?
Quintin Quider’s Wild Earth Estate in New Zealand’s Central Otago region has won almost every award that the International Wine Challenge could throw at him, including New Zealand Pinot Noir of the Year, New World Pinot Noir of the Year and International Pinot Noir of the Year.
Wild Earth’s founder Quintin Quider is agreed to visit Norwich to host an informal wine tasting & supper at The Last Wine Bar. QQ is an expatriate Californian who spent many years living in the South Island of NZ where he has gathered a small, dedicated team to produce his Wild Earth wines in Central Otago. This is one of the most unpredictable viticultural areas in the world where extremes of temperature make winemaking a challenge. Half the grapes for this wine came from the Terraces Vineyards in well-known Felton Road (Bannockburn) and the rest from Wild Earth’s Lowburn Vineyard.
Wild Earth produce one of the world’s great Pinot Noir’s and a small quantity of dry, expressive and very sought-after Riesling. We thought we’d format the evening by beginning with a small tutored-tasting (don’t worry, it’ll remain very informal) of a couple of vintages of each of his wines followed by the supper where we’ll pair his wines with a top Pinot from Burgundy and a top Riesling from Alsace.
Once again, the price will be a terrific £39 per person; covering the great food and great wine on the night – and the guidance and experience of the award-winning creator of one of the world’s greatest new wines.
