There must be few regions anywhere in the world that are dominated by the presence of one producer as much as Toro. Bodegas Farina were founded back in 1942 and have been largely responsible for changing the reputation of the area and establishing the region as one of the premium wine areas of Spain.
Despite the Toro region having a formidable climate (hot summers of over 40ºC and cold winters down to -7ºC coupled with massive temperature changes between day and night and the lowest rainfall levels in Spain), they still manage to produce a wonderfully refreshing, clean white wine.
Malvasia is better known as the Pinot Gris grape in other areas -this wine has notes of juicy green apples and even a hint of peach – it has superb soft acidity on the end taste even though it could be described as a degree off dry.
