Wine Maker: Jeff Meier of J.Lohr

Grape Varieties: Zinfandel  (small amount of Syrah)

This wine is named after the Paintersville Bridge which spans an inlet of the Sacremento Delta. The fruit for this wine comes from a mix of eight different Zinfandel vineyards in Lodi, Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo – the Zinfandel is blended with a small amount of particularly spicy Syrah from Paso Robles. Each of these lots of Zinfandel are fermented separately, extracting the nuances of each individual grower’s fruit with an eye towards suppleness and texture.

The objective of this wine is to achieve rounded, ripe, fruit driven character, enhanced by a few months in barrel. This wine was made by the accomplished winemaker, Jeff Meier, the winemaker for the famous J.Lohr brand.

Food Match: A Spicy wine that can cope with complex flavours and strong tastes – enjoy with pasta, pizza and red meats.
