Winemaking by utilising the unique circular granite lagares at the old Museu de Lagared in Vale de Mendiz An old port press house, once leased by Sandeman, who established it as a museum, notably for the unique circular granite lagares, originally designed by Antonio Pinto Gouveio at the end of the 19th century. When Niepoort took it over, they put the lagares back into use, and it is now the centre of operations for Niepoort’s port production in the Douro.
