100% Tempranillo

The 2007 has an attractive, bright, garnet red with good depth. Intense and clean to the nose, with noticeable aromas of fruit and vanilla. Powerful in the mouth, with harmony, balance and persistence.

This company was founded in 1983 as a commercial arm for bottled wines of the Wine Cooperatives of Navarra. Located at Murchante, with modern facilities for bottling, ageing and treatment of the wines; there are some 7,500 American and Allier oak barriques. They have become a major player in the Navarra D.O. export market, producing high quality wines with a distinctive Spanish feel. Bodegas Principe de Viana controls 900 hectares of vineyards in Murchante, a town located 100 kilometres south of Pamplona, on the Pamplona-Madrid axis. The area, the Queiles river valley, in the Ribera Navarra, is particularly suited for growing top-quality grapes.
In addition, the bodega and its vineyards are only 20 kilometres away from Moncayo, a 2,316-metre high mountain that results in a local microclimate with very cold winters and very hot summers. Annual rainfall is 448 litres per square metre and the average temperature, 13.6 °C. The soils offer an ideal mixture of gravel and clay ensuring good water retention whilst avoiding drainage problems.
