In the 1950s a number of forward thinking producers in the Trentino area of Northeast Italy recognised that investment, technical development and marketing, for what still is to this day, a very distinctive part of Italy, would be best served by working together. Thus one of Italy’s largest and most respective Co-operatives was born.
By the 1970s a huge purpose built winery and cellar had been built providing facilities that had previously been way beyond the reach of the local producers. Today, 70% of the wine produced in Trentino has an association with the CAVIT Co-operative and not only do they represent hundreds of smaller producers but also 13 of the 15 smaller co-operatives in the area, making it a second tier co-operative providing research, viticultural and winemaking leadership, as well as marketing and distribution services.
Lunetta (Little Moon) is a stylish, delicate, sparkling wine that is fragrant, with fresh aromas of apple and peach. On the palate it is wonderfully refreshing, with crisp fruit flavours and a clean finish – plain fun to drink, the perfect bottle to prove that sparkling wine should not just be banished to special occasions!
