As the name implies the winemaker is Pierre Lurton of Cheval Blanc and Chateau d’Yquem, and he is working in combination with the exceptional Roberto de la Mota of the Las Terrazas winery. Las Terrazas is the showcase South American winery in the LVMH group. This wine combines the spectacular ancient terroir of the Andes with some of the most refined wine-making know-how in the world. Matured in new French Oak (as a fine claret would be) the wine has stunning concentration and elaborate layers of flavour. Cheval des Andes is created using 75 year old ungrafted Malbec vines, combined with Cabernet and Petit Verdot. It is one of South America’s very, very finest wines.
