This is a really outstanding interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc. Although there are some game SBs produced in the Adelaide Hills region of Australia it is clear that Tasmania has the potential to produce Sauvignon of the style and quality of near(ish) neighbour, New Zealand.
Sourced from the Tamar River and drier East Coast regions, this small but perfectly formed and attractive range of wines are made at the Rosevear Estate which looks out over the Tamar River estuary north of Launceston on the Northern side of the island. Dr Richard Smart (viticulturalist) and Dr Andrew Pirie (winemaker), both of world renown and industry recognition, are responsible for turning in quality fruit and making premium wines.
