Founded in 1898 by Gustav Niebaum, the Inglenook Estate as it was originally known, was quick to establish a reputation for excellence with some fine vintages around the turn of the 20th century. Following prohibition, Niebaum's grand-nephew John Daniel continued his work in Rutherford producing wines became known against the best in the world.
In 1975 Francis Ford Coppola stumbled across the property whilst searching for a small retreat for his family. Under the brilliant stewardship of Larry Stone this estate has been fully restored involving extreme dedication, and revealing breathtaking results.
