Volnay 1er Cru Les Clos des Chenes Domaine Henri Delagrange 2006

If any single wine defines the new Delagrange style then this is still it. Didier’s grandfather painstakingly replanted his part of the vineyard in 1936. Today these 70 year old vines are producing very small quantities of exquisite fruit which under the winemaker’s careful control are producing wine with beautifully soft tannins, gentle acidity and elegance.

Aloxe-Corton 'Les Caillettes' Domaine Henri Delagrange 2006

Of all Didier Delagrange’s fine 2006 wines this was the one which most resembled the 2005 in structure and character. Unfortunately Didier only works enough vines to produce 3 barrels of this delicious Aloxe-Corton, so that’s roughly only 100 cases to go round his entire client list.
