In Germany, Markus Molitor's unerring faith in the quality of the steep, slate covered slopes of the middle Mosel gives him the confidence to be genuinely non-interventionist and allows the most wonderful, individual expressions of terroir to shine through in his tense, excitingly balanced wines.
With 34 hectares of well-sited vineyard, Markus is one of the middle Mosel's most impottant growers. During the difficult years when the value of German vineyards fell dramatically, Markus had the conviction, knowledge and foresight to take advantage of the low prices and bought up a significant number of small parcels in the finest parts of the best vineyards.
