Spain

Modern Spanish wine is quite literally amazing and there is no more exciting country to visit in the pursuit of new wines right now.  The passion, creativity and essential raw materials of this huge land mass have finally been harnessed and wines of staggering ability to wow and impress are being exported to every corner of the world.

The warmth of the people and their precious Tempranillo grape variety has found it's natural release in Rioja and Ribera del Duero and the Garnacha (Grenache in France) is allowing Priorat to provide perhaps the finest expression of this ubiquitous grape.  Catalonia's other great region of Penedes has maximised the potential of international varieties like Syrah, Cabernet and Chardonnay.

The relentless modernity of the Spanish wine industry is also providing us with perhaps more unique architecture than any other competing country and these great structures are a fitting compliment on and complement to the wines that have enabled their construction.
