Tour de France Legend, Eddy Merckx
The 3 week stage race of the 2012 Tour de France is going to allow us to showcase some of France's greatest wines. Stage 6 visits Epernay, the home of several of the great Champagne Houses, including Pol Roger, Perrier Jouet and Moet & Chandon. The tour then travels through Alsace, giving us an excuse to serve a fine dry white from this region. The tour then heads over to Burgundy, the Jura and the Northern Rhone Valley, giving us ample opportunity to select some great wines from these regions. Towards the end of the race the tour heads to the Med' allowing us to select some more than special sweet wines before heading north through Cognac. Expect a VERY special menu from Roger for this one and some surprises along the way.
