Alvaro is the 5th generation winemaker here, his focus in Rioja is Garnacha and he aims to make wines that can be enjoyed early.
Vendimia is a fresh, fruity, modern style of Tempranillo; terrific value given that the wine is aged in new French oak for over four months. La Montesa is Remondo’s Crianza; the vines are planted at 550m altitude over 100ha and it spends over 12 months in young wood, resulting in a wine with a silky balance and lovely purity of fruit. The flagship cuvée is the Propiedad. Made from 35yr old, lowyielding vines planted at a 650m altitude and it is matured in new French oak, with the spicy, cedary vanilla characters in perfect harmony with the bright fruit.
