Burgundy en primeur
2024 Burgundy offer
It’s that time of year again and we have some wonderful wines for our 2024 Burgundy en primeur offering!
I’ve just tasted the fresh 2022 vintage, plus some excellent newly released older years (the 2019 Philipe le Hardi wines are a standout) and they’re impressive across the board!
There’s plenty to say about the 2022 year for Burgundy, and I’m sure if you’re here you’re probably familiar with most of the news. So I’ll keep it short: the year had the great balance of early frost, plenty of warmth (going as far as severe drought in some places) and the occasional perfectly timed shower. This led to the grapes reaching perfect ripeness, but also maintaining a marked acidity. There’s plenty of volume, so the scarcity of the 2020/2021 won’t be such a problem, and great quality. There’s little to fault!
2022 will be a vintage that will reward cellaring (if you can be restrained enough), and some of these wines will demand that, but the fresh Bourgogne and village wines will be great straight out!
I’ll stop here as I could ramble on about Burgundy forever, so I’ll stop here. You can browse our offerings below.
